South Downs Way
The South Downs Way runs through some of southern Britain's most beautiful countryside.
In 3 days (2 days June tour) we will cycle the 101 mile (162-km) of National Park, over the undulating countryside between Eastbourne and Winchester. This ancient route of droving roads established some 5000 years ago was used to take animals and goods between the market towns of the region. Its many historical features include Roman tracks, round towered Saxon churches, Norman churches, tumulus burial sites, ancient dew ponds created as watering holes for animals and Bronze Age Hill top forts.
The rolling chalk hills, lovely river valleys of the Arun, Ouse and Cuckmere and variety of scenery, contribute to making this one of the best off-road cycling trips in the country.
